10 Day cover
10 Day
In 2011, after being put on a ten day suspension for marijuana possession on his high school campus, Chance would begin to plan out the release of his first commerical mixtape, titled 10 Day. Recording for the album would take place over the span of eight months, and following its release saw a modest success, being generally well receieved and featured in Forbes Magazine's "Cheap Tunes" column.

Acid Rap cover
Acid Rap
Focusing on drugs, loss of innocence, and nostalgia, Acid Rap is the critically acclaimed second mixtape from Chance The Rapper. Rather than releasing as an album, Chance said he chose to release the project as a mixtape because he wanted to create free music. Chance has admitted that LSD was used during the production of the mixtape, but clarified that it wasn't a huge factor, calling it "a bit of fuel." The song "Juice" wasn't released onto streaming services due to sample clearances, and was instead replaced by a voice memo from Chance.

In 2014, J Cole would post a tracklist for an album that was likely a collaboration project with Chance. The project was seven tracks and twenty one minutes long. Very little is known about the album as neither artist spoke about it.

Acid Rap 2
Although the title isn't confirmed, some evidence points towards Chance's third mixtape originally being called Acid Rap 2. The themes of it were very similar to those of Acid Rap, before his daughter was born and Chance decided to shift the focus of the mixtape towards "God, love, Chicago, and dance."

Coloring Book cover
Coloring Book
After scrapping the idea for an Acid Rap sequel, Chance's third mixtape would become the grammy-winning mixtape Coloring Book. Inspired by Kanye West taking over an entire recording studio during work on The Life of Pablo, Chance would rent out several rooms in a Chicago recording studio and more or less lived at the studio during the making of the mixtape. Fusing gospel, jazz, and hiphop together, Coloring Book explores ideas of spiritual fulfillment and Christian faith. The mixtape would win Best Rap Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Collaboration with Childish Gambino
At the 2014 Governor's Ball in New York, Chance and Gambino would perform their latest collaboration "The Worst Guys." The day after, Gambino would announce via Twitter that the two had a full collaboration album in the works. It is unknown whether or not the album is still being worked on, with the last mention of it being four years later during Chance's interview with Complex, where he stated they had recorded six songs, and that he believed the album would be longer than fourteen songs.

Good Ass Job cover
Good Ass Job
Good Ass Job is the name of the Kanye and Chance collab project that people talked about for years before being officially announced in 2018. The project was supposed to be just seven tracks long, similar to all of Kanye's Wyoming albums. The central theme of this project is a celebration, as many of the tracks we've heard from this project seem to be very joyful and uplifting. Kanye and Chance presumably cancelled it sometime in 2019. This project has no covers we know of, so we have used unofficial artwork.

The Big Day cover
The Big Day
The Big Day is the debut studio album from Chance The Rapper. Originally, the album was set to continue the style that Chance had found success in originally, using bombastic soul instrumentals and even a promise to have production from Kanye West, who flew to Chicago to help Chance with The Big Day. The work done with Kanye would spiral into the scrapped collaboration album Good Ass Job, and much of the original work done on The Big Day would be scrapped, with the only released material being the six singles Chance would drop throughout 2018. Chance decided he would rework the album months before release, pivoting to a more trap inspired sound that heavily focused on his marriage. The Big Day was criticized for being a step down from Chance's previous works, citing an inconsistent quality and uninspired performances. The release version of The Big Day would become infamous, and the indicator to many that Chance had fallen off.

Star Line Gallery
Star Line Gallery is the second studio album from Chance The Rapper. Following a hated debut album, and a flopped tour, Chance went back to the drawing board, with an album that would focus on his lyricism more than ever before. In March of 2021, Chance would release "The Heart and the Tongue" with a music video exclusively to YouTube to widespread positive reviews from both fans and critics, leading many to believe that Star Line Gallery was set to be Chance's bounce back following the disappointment of The Big Day. The album has not yet dropped.
