Purple Thoughtz

Purple Thoughtz is the debut EP of Philedelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert. The album was self-released onto Soundcloud on January 19, 2014. Coming out of their former rap group "Steaktown" and off one of their most popular songs titled Steaktown Anthem, Purple Thoughtz would serve as an introduction to Uzi's solo work as an artist prior to the release of their first mixtape.

The original version of Luv Is Rage 2, which was completed in 2016. Because of this, the project was ready to release on late 2016 or very early 2017, but ended up getting delayed. This was because of Uzi travelling to Hawaii on January from 2017, where he started to play with a darker theme for the album. This likely made him realize how it could be better to rework the album, since this 2016 version was way too similar to The Perfect LUV Tape in terms of sound. So he scrapped it, in favor of developing this new gritty and dark version from 2017. The cover for this era is fanmade.

A collaborative extended play by American rappers Lil Uzi Vert and Gucci Mane. It was released through Generation Now and GUWOP on November 23, 2016. The EP features production by Honorable C.N.O.T.E., D. Rich, Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven, DP Beats and GLOhan Beats. The project was planned to rleease fully on streaming, but didn't due to sample clearance issues and has stayed on Soundcloud since.

The debut studio album by the American rapper and singer Lil Uzi Vert, released on August 25, 2017, through Generation Now and Atlantic Records. This album has been highly anticipated since before Lil Uzi tweeted, on December 13, 2016, but has been waited on since November. To much surprise, Uzi decided to leave out one of the songs that was most highly anticipated “Come This Way”, which was first previewed on his Instagram account, and performed in concerts, according to the producer, LyleLeDuff. LeDuff stated that he told him the fans wanted it but Uzi said he didn’t care. The release date was finally announced in August 25, Uzi tweeted out some leaks of snippets and his cover art/tracklist.

The tape was fully made during three studio sessions in 2017, one of them is known to have happened in November 2017. In September of 2017, Playboi Carti announced via Snapchat and Twitter that he would be collaborating with Lil Uzi Vert on a joint album titled 1629*. The following month, a tour for the album was announced by the two, but it was shortly canceled afterward when Uzi said he would not be going on tour with Carti because he "needed to focus." The album would fall by the wayside until July of 2018, when Carti mentioned that he and Uzi had recorded "like 100 songs." After that, all talk of the album pretty much subsided. It should be noted that many insiders have claimed that there was never a tracklist, cover art, or marketing plan put together.

Eternal Atake [V1]

On July 16, 2018 Uzi would announce his next album on his Instagram, titled "Eternal Atake". Which meant "Forever Overtake". He also introduced a new theme for this project, which is visually and thematically influenced by the logo of the Heaven’s Gate cult that infamously committed a mass suicide of 39 people in 1997. Obviously, he received backlash for this creative decision. He also changed his Instagram profile picture to an image of Marshall Applewhite, the cult’s leader, and started being more active on social medio overall. This era is basically a direct continuation, from all work and ideas done on LUVvsTW 2. Evolving, by hopping on more spacey and catchy beats, that describe this new sound, the best. It all changes after May 24, 2019; when Uzi didn't meet the deadline given by his label. This not only started a huge issue between both parties (Uzi and his label), but also marked another rework for the album. Changing its direction, from a deep space sound, to a more generic melodic trap sound.

Eternal Atake marks a significant evolution in Uzi's sound, building on the melodic trap and emo rap foundations of the Luv Is Rage albums. Uzi surprised fans by releasing the album in its entirety mid-day on March 6. Upon the album’s release, a fan theorized that the album’s eighteen tracks were divided into three categories that represented Uzi’s three musical alter egos. Uzi corroborated the theory in his own tweet. Almost immediately after releasing the album, Uzi began teasing a deluxe release of the album, which ended dropping just a few days later on March 13th, 2020 with grails from the LIR2 and LUVvsTW 2 [V1] eras, alongside a few newly worked on tracks.

Pluto x Baby Pluto is a collaborative album from Future and Lil Uzi Vert. The record’s title comes from their respective alter egos: Future has been known as Pluto since his career’s inception, while Uzi adopted the alter ego “Baby Pluto” as a tribute to Future earlier in 2020. After Uzi stated the name of his new concept for his album, the Pink Tape (on July 16th, 2021), he started to work on a more melodic and experimental sound. He started to work on more rock and jersey-club influenced tracks, as a result of the increasing demand of new flows from the time. Notably, he likely wanted to replicate the impact that Playboi Carti's "Whole Lotta Red" had on the industry and the genre. Working on similar moshpit anthems, and even working close with Carti himself for some time, once more. It was even alleged that they were working once again on a new iteration of their joint project 16*29. Which likely was another motivator for Uzi, to keep working with this new trend in rap, "rage rap". The only important track that came from this sessions, was "JUMPIN", on Carti's "MUSIC", on 2025.

Working even more with Brandon Finessin, and even exploring on making his voice even more nasal, while using his experience on more melodic tracks. He started to evolve his Cloud-Rap Aesthetic. Whether it was his fashion style, or hopping on more unconventional beats.

Yeat posted with Uzi to his Instagram on March 17, 2022 with the caption: "16TR #p!nklyfe…. ###ë## #reallygeekedoutmybodykid #geeky????", hinting that a collaborative tape between the artists could be on the way. On April 15, 2022, Yeat teased the project in a since-deleted tweet and Instagram story post, hinting that a collaborative project with Uzi was on the way: "Super geeky tha tape… loading #kollab". Throughout 2021 and 2022, Uzi and Yeat worked together very often, with even Uzi saying that they and Yeat had "100 songs" together, some of which are released and some which are expected to be on a collaboration project teased various times. Although the title is not confirmed, 'Pink Lyfë' is the fan name for the Uzi x Yeat sessions as it was a caption for an Instagram post with them together. Upon exiting rehab after 7 months, Uzi would continue to record starting in Jan 2022, this time sober. Red & White would release a little over a year later on July 22nd, 2022, and Uzi would begin promising fans on several occasions that Pink Tape would be dropping soon. The next, and only single that made it to the release version of Pink Tape, Just Wanna Rock, released on October 17th, 2022. Uzi would tease several more songs through instagram live & live performances in 2023, before Pink Tape finally dropped on June 30th, 2023. Uzi confirmed later that same day that another album would be dropping soon, later confirmed to be the long awaited LUV IS Rage 3. Ironically, despite entering rehab, Uzi would be seen smoking cigarettes frequently (highlighted during the final rollout), and he would still continue to do promos for Telegram/Instagram marijuana 'businesses', and it's not confirmed he stopped smoking weed. Several iterations including a Punk Rock iteration, a Jersey-club themed iteration, a 'spacey' iteration, a Kanye exec. produced iteration (to go alongside the scrapped DONDA tour), a Dec 2022 iteration, and several 2023 iterations as Uzi began to finalize the tracklist and album into the "experimental" album that would release.

He even hinted at the possibility of Luv Is Rage 3 being the album, that was on the works. Later, on July 9th, Uzi announced that he was dropping a mixtape, titled "Barter 16". Which of course, paid homage to the (at the time) incarcerated Young Thug’s game-changing debut mixtape, "Barter 6", and is a play on words, regarding Uzi’s home street number, North 16 Street in Philadelphia.

His response was 'Eternal Atake 2', leading fans to believe a new successor to the 2020 album is on the way. Cover posted by Uzi on his IG. Based on public speculation and past Uzi posts, fans believed that this album was forced by the label and Uzi didn't want to release it; however, other insiders have noted that Uzi thought this was going to be a "masterpiece". Upon the project's release, however, it quickly became apparent this was easily his worst project yet, with two songs even qualifying as half-decent.

After the commercial failure of EA2, and the amount of backlash it received from the fans, Uzi started to shift his artistic direction. From being radio silent before the project dropped, he started to be way more active; appearing in Kai Cenat's stream, and doing many interviews to promote EA2. Starting a new trend of his, by wearing all white clothes. Trend that would last this entire era. This created a huge expectative from fans hoping that Uzi would do a come-back, bringing back the long awaited Luv Is Rage 3 to the table, and revitalizing his career. A rumor started to get shared by many, claiming that EA2 was Uzi's way of getting out of his contract with Atlantic Records, and finishing his deal. With many comparing it to how Frank Ocean dropped his 'ENDLESS' project on 2017 (making a deal with Apple Music) to get out of his own deal. And then, he immediately dropped his holy grail of an album: 'Blonde'. Uzi even seemingly confirmed this theory, by giving out some small hints validating this theory.

When asked about when was Uzi's new project releaseing, Don Cannon stated in an IG post that "It'll drop when it drops 😎". The original question was actually: "Can you confirm Uzi is dropping The Perfect LUV Tape 2 this summer like people said", and it was made on May 2, 2025. It's unknown if this was an actual project in the works, a placeholder name, or Don Cannon evading the question. Uzi would later start teasing 'W.H.2.U', and the fans started theorizing about it's meaning; some even pointed out that this was actually teased on the promotional material from Eternal Atake 2. He made some IG stories, teasin this project as a "Summer Tape", and some people even speculated the possibility of "Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World 3" being also in the works.
